Colorwork SwatchLab: Session 5-Double Knitting-Aug 8

Join us on Saturday, Aug 8 from 1:30-4:30pm for the fifth of 6 sessions in our Colorwork SwatchLab series! 

Practice creating a reversible, double-layered fabric with two colors in our fifth Colorwork Swatch Lab. This satisfying technique looks complex but becomes intuitive with just this class’s practice.

You’ll learn how to 

• Read double knitting charts
• Cast on for double knitting
• Manage edges
• Change colors
• Increase and decrease in pattern
• And work from charts that create mirrored designs

Prerequisites: Advanced beginner. Participants must know how to cast on, knit, purl, work in rows, and have some familiarity with working with two colors in the same row

Required Materials: (All available at the shop.)

• Textbook-The Colorwork Bible by Jesie Ostermiller
• 30 yds each of 2 contrasting colors of DK weight yarn
• Size US 6 or 7 circular knitting needles (any length)

Cost: This session is $45. The Textbook and DK mini Set are available to add on.
