Knitting instructor, Sarah Walworth is teaching six in-depth classes using The Colorwork Bible by Jesie Ostermiller.

Ready to build your confidence with color? This six-class, swatch-based series explores the most popular colorwork techniques in knitting, using The Colorwork Bible as our guide and textbook. From stripes and stranded knitting to brioche and double knitting, each class focuses on hands-on learning, clear explanations, and practical skills you can apply to future projects.

Designed for adventurous beginners and beyond, this series breaks colorwork into approachable, manageable techniques. Each class stands on its own, but together they create a strong foundation for understanding color, chart reading, yarn management, and finishing techniques across multiple styles of colorwork.

Session 1: Intro to Colorwork and Stripes Sat, Jun 6 1:30-4:30pm

Session 2: Slip Stitch and Mosaic Knitting Sat, June 20 1:30-4:30pm

Session 3: Stranded Knitting Sat, July 11 1:30-4:30pm

Session 4: Intarsia Sat, July 25 1:30-4:30pm

Session 5: Double Knitting Sat, Aug 8 1:30-4:30pm

Session 6: Brioche Sat, Aug 22 1:30-4:30pm

The Materials

Required Materials:

All materials available for purchase at sign up. When you sign up for all 6 sessions, it includes the book and 5 20g mini set.

Textbook (required): The Colorwork Bible by Jesie Ostermiller

Yarn: 5 or 6 contrasting colors of DK weight yarn (100g total)

Needles: Size US 6 or 7 circular knitting needles, any length

How to Sign Up

Here are a few guidelines for signing up.

Come to the Colorwork SwatchLab Info Session on Feb 7 from 12:30-2pm to find out more and ask questions.
Sign up is available in store and online.
Pick and choose between a few sessions or all 6 sessions.
When you sign up for all 6 sessions, the textbook and 5 20g mini skein set are included.
The textbook, The Colorwork Bible by Jesie Ostermiller is required. It can be purchased when you sign up.
The 5 20g skein mini set is not required but will be enough yarn to take you through all 6 sessions.
If you purchase the textbook and mini set, we will have the yarn wound and book ready for your first session.
